THE BASIC STATS:
Titled: "Steady"
Portrait of Ava
Age 11
Water color, 16in x 20in
THE BASIC INTERVIEW:
Brian & Jill McLaughlin
B: What's the idea?
J: I want to do a portrait of each of my kids but I'd like them to work together as a series. I am inspired by old portraits and want to add a bit of whimsy. Hoping to communicate a lot more than just their physical attributes and illuminate some of the more unseen parts of their personalities.
B: How do you see Ava?
J: When I see Ava -I see a wise soul that knows who she is and what she wants. Ava is a protector and a care-giver whose strength is in her foundation of truth. She seems well rooted and established.
B: What inspired you?
J: The verse, "Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:31
