B:  What's the idea?

J:  A client needed a very large piece of artwork for a particular space in their interior so they decided to have a family portrait painted. 

​

B: What's the concept?

J:  This wasn't an ordinary portrait from the start. The client  wanted to have fun with it but also have it hold some meaning for them. As a family, their favorite movie is The Royal Tenenbaums and one of their cherished memories is watching it together every year.  So I decided to go with a portrait that was a bit kitchy in nature and incorporated various patterns and colors.
