THE BASIC INTERVIEW:

Brian and Jill McLaughlin

B:  What do you have in mind for the living room?

J: I'd love a space that pulls the outdoors in. One of my biggest inspirations for inner peace is nature. One of my favorite parts about the old porch we had was that you could see right through to the backyard. I would like to hang on to the core emotional connection with the back yard. I imagine being able to watch the snow fall or the plants blowing in the summer breeze. The challenge is having that but also, somehow preserving our privacy.

B: What are some of the ideas that you are excited about?

J: I am so excited about having a space with a lot of light. This allows me to bring plants inside and hopefully keep them alive!! Our old living, eating, cooking space was a bit dim and has low ceilings. I am excited about the higher ceilings. I'm planning to have intentional line of sight straight through. I'm also excited for some wall space - in the older room I did not have anywhere to hang artwork.

B: What are 3 adjectives to describe the Living Room?

J: Warm, bright and eclectic.
